This series contains the Journal of the House of Representatives. The Journal is printed, but the manuscript journals may be available in two forms: rough and finished. The rough journal consists of the first draft of the proceedings that is based on the minute book. The finished journal is generally prepared from the rough journal after it is revised and corrected. The series does not include both forms of the Journal for every Congress.
